Marine Observation Mission (MOM)

The goal of MOM is to provide increase Maritime Domain Awareness.  The Auxiliary specific MOM tasks are observation, recording and reporting findings to the Operational Commander with no active intervention.  Primary areas of focus include Ports & Waterways, Vessels, Land Based Infrastructure and Targets or Vulnerabilities of interest.  Thus, MOM should be an integral part of every marine patrol, activity and mission.

Abandoned Vessel Tracking (AVT)

The District, Sector and Division "Leadership Team" strongly encourage active Auxiliary participation and support of the AVT pilot project being conducted for USCG Sector Baltimore. 

Boat Crew Qualified Coxswains and Crew should:

• review and become familiar with the AVT Website

• develop a working knowledge of the AVT Database

• review and become familiar with the "AVT Handbook" and "Forms"

• print out copies of the "AVT Evaluation Matrix" and "AVT Worksheet"

• print out a listing of entries in AVT Database for AOR where marine activities will be conducted

• make the AVT Mission an integral part of every marine patrol and mission

It is believed that AVT will prove to be of value to the Boating Community, Auxiliary and Coast Guard as well as making on-the-water patrols and activities more interesting and rewarding. 

Weather Reporting (WR)

Auxiliary Coxswains and Crew are requested to make the weather-reporting program sponsored by the National Weather Service (NWS) an integral part of every patrol.  The Sector Baltimore Auxiliary leadership team believe that participating in this effort will provide a valuable service to the Boating Community, Auxiliary and Coast Guard as well as making maritime patrols, missions and activities more interesting and rewarding.
